Couples Renew Vows for Valentine’s Day

Love was definitely in the air here on Valentine’s Day, as a special celebration took center-stage during our lunchtime party. Two couples from our personal care community — Resident Joe Hepburn and his wife, Linda; and activities director Karen Vevers and her husband, Jim — renewed their marriage vows in a brief but sweet ceremony in the dining room. Our Residents applauded the Hepburns’ 52 years of marriage and the Vevers’ 38-year union, and also toasted Ed Brandstadter and his wife, Loretta (married 65 years) and Paul VonBloch and his wife, Linda (married 43 years).

Everyone watched with heart eyes as Karen and Jim reenacted their first dance to Billy Joel’s 1977 hit Just the Way You Are, played by musical entertainers Benny & Betsy. Our Residents also enjoyed decorating heart-shaped cookies.
